It’s here, it’s queer, and we’re all excited for it.
Just in time for Pride Month, some of the metro’s most colorful denizens were treated to a night of great music, drinks, and fabulous performances at the pre-launch party for CURV — the country’s first locally-developed LGBTQ+ dating and social app — at Limbo-Art Gallery and Bar in Poblacion, Makati.

Billing itself as the first inclusive social and dating app that offers a platform for LGBTQ+ Filipinos, CURV strongly urges its users to build a culture of respect, as well as strictly focus on the importance of connection, community, and equality — a breath of fresh air, considering the amount of discrimination one commonly encounters in other similar apps.

“Users are urged to build a culture of respect, to meet people beyond their part of the rainbow, and maybe even welcome more diversity in the people they date” CURV said in a previously released press statement.
Urging everyone to #BendConventions, the launch also featured a photo campaign by photographer Cru Camara, whose portraits of some of the members of the metro’s LGBTQ+ community depict the diversity of queer love and representation.
“From PR maven and trans activist Janlee Dungca to photographer BJ Pascual, our subjects remind us that there’s nothing to lose when we swerve from stereotypes and kick discrimination to the curb,” CURV said, noting in a statement that aside from being exhibited at the pre-launch party, the images were also blown up and posted as street art throughout Poblacion.

Adding flair to the evening’s festivities were DJ sets by Mang Melvin, Curtismith, and Religion Black, as well as vogue performances by dancers Jesse Rafael and Xyza Ragunjan from Nude Floor Creative Grounds.
