Yes, you need sunscreen indoors

Isolating at home? Don’t think you don’t need sunscreen. Staying indoors is also not enough to keep your skin protected from the sun’s UV rays especially when it’s the strongest between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The sun’s rays can bounce off walls and penetrate to indoor exposure. Even our phones, computers, and indoor lighting make us vulnerable to UV radiation,” says Criscy Camacho, marketing and customer service director of Mary Kay Philippines Inc. “That’s why we made sure our Sheer UV Defense Milk SPF50/PA+++ gives the highest maximum protection for the skin.”

SPF measures the protection against UVB rays, while PA pertains to UVA rays — and the Sheer UV Defense Milk holds the highest level of both to shield your skin. The Sheer UV Defense Milk is water-resistant, formulated with a physical sunscreen, and infused with watermelon fruit extract, which makes it an strong yet light and protective agent against the sun. “It is dermatologist-tested and suited for people with sensitive skin,” adds Criscy.

Without a sun protection agent, you may experience skin discoloration just six to 12 hours after exposure, but using sunscreen with an SPF of 30 will keep you protected for up to ten hours. Don’t forget to wait at least 20 to 30 minutes for it to settle before stepping outside.

Mary Kay’s Sheer UV Defense Milk is available through Mary Kay Representatives for P2,299. [Ad]
