‘Pamingming Cup 2019’ aims to raise funds for stray kitties

On Aug. 11, 2019, Orticats.ph will be holding the Pamingming Cup football tournament at the Marikina Sports Complex from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The one-day fundraising football tournament aims to benefit a separate spay and neuter outreach project in partnership with the Philippine Pet Birth Control Center Foundation (PPBCC) entitled, “The 100-Stray Cat Project Manila.”

Founded in May 2018, Orticats.ph is a non-profit, Instagram-based page dedicated to rescuing abandoned neonatal kittens especially those in fatal conditions. Since then, it has rescued/fostered 49 kittens. Most of them survived the neonatal stage, have grown into strong kittens, and adopted by loving families, but sadly, some fought but didn’t make it. They all have a different rescue story, but one thing they all have in common is that they were all a byproduct of an irresponsible community that is not familiar with a spay and neuter procedure let alone know the importance of it.
