MORNING ROUTINE: When I wake up at 6 a.m., I wash my face with a gentle cleanser and spray it with soothing orange blossom water. I also rub coconut oil on my arms and legs right before I walk my dog — both to moisturize these exposed areas and to spread a lovely fragrance into my neighborhood, for the pleasure of passers-by who get a whiff of me.
Right before I go to work, I use a mildly exfoliating Clarins cleanser on my face, then a moisturizing SPF by Aesop. The area around my eyes is especially problematic so they require a dab of La Prairie SPF-added cream and then a Clinique dark circle corrector.
EVENING ROUTINE: At night, I keep it relatively simple. Right before I go to bed at 10 p.m., I massage my face with SK-II essence and then press cactus fruit serum into it, which I got from a sketchy “pharmacy” in Morocco. It seems to make my face dewy, though.
- Eminence Red Currant Protective Moisturizer with SPF 30. It spreads lightly across my face, leaving no oily residue.
- Aesop Resurrection Hand Balm. I have severely dry hands and this is a quick rescue, not to mention that its scent transports me to the wealth and luxury that resides only in my head.
- Rogaine. Alas, I am as limited as the genes my momma gave me, and those genes come with alopecia. Thank goddess I get to avoid looking like a bald pedophile.
