Benildean students celebrate artistry through music in ‘MADEPRO: Musikolbab’

The Benilde Music Production Program’s Major Demo Production (MADEPRO) started a movement to promote the magic of music called #PassTheMic last Saturday to launch their termly music festival. This December 12, 2018 at 7PM in the 6/F Black Box, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Design and Arts Campus as they kickstart MADEPRO: Musikolab. The festival will be a celebration of artistry through music. It is a collaborative creative effort of art, music, and talent by the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde hosted by the Music Production students of the School of Design and Arts originally stemmed from their Major Demo Production class, also known as MADEPRO. 

MADEPRO: Musikolabfeatures students as they come together to produce and perform original pieces that put to work the knowledge and experiences they have gathered over the years. MADEPRO: Musikolabwill feature the musical compositions of five students expressing their individuality through different genres such as: Gospel, Acoustic, Ballad, Thrash Metal, and Film scores.

The students headlining this term’s MADEPROare Stacy Abarca, Jonseph “Pigo” Caig, Kim Mingyu, Karlo Winffotter, and Ray Nathaniel “RN” Magadia. 

Stacy Abarca

Stacy Abarca has been an aspiring singer since the age of five. She has recently played the role of Narda in Benilde’s Arts and Culture Cluster’s “Ding, Ang Bato!” last May 2018.

Jonseph “Pigo” Caig started playing drums at the age of twelve due to the influence of his brother. Presently, Pigo is the drummer for BARAKO, a thrash metal band formed in 2017. 

Ray Nathaniel “RN” Magadia’s interests are in original film scores and jingles. He has worked on songs for the films The Art of Making Landi (2017) and Hushband. 

Lastly, Kim Mingyu and Karlo Winffotter are the dynamic duo of Double K who create original and multilingual acoustic ballad songs. Both started playing music at a young age.
