Why Marriott’s Manila Life Café in Terminal 3 is a good idea

Not that we’re condoning taking passport photos, but there aren’t a lot of photogenic flatlay options at the airport. Until Manila Life Café happened. The latest dining spot to open at NAIA Terminal 3, Manila Life Café addresses a lot of our #airportlife woes. The first and most important being: Where to spend 3 to 4 hours of inevitable waiting. Here are 8 reasons Manila Life Café is a good idea:

YOU CAN HANG OUT

Fast food dining etiquette insists that we eat-and-run. Most airport fast food chains aren’t built for hanging out, anyway. They’re busy, cramped and won’t help with the stress. Manila Life Café has 94 seats. No one will hassle you for taking your time, and certainly not for meticulously composing your pre-flight flatlay.

IT’S PHOTOGENIC

Let’s just say that Manila airports aren’t really known for being aesthetically pleasing. Manila Life Café changes that. It has a chill atmosphere that makes it quite the oasis amid airport chaos. Wood furnishings and warm lights give it a modern, yet inviting vibe. Every corner is Instagram-worthy, as they say.

ITS STAR DISH IS WORTH THE VISIT

Even without a flight, you might find yourself wanting to visit Manila Life Café just for its famous Pancit Luglug, or the It Takes Gutz Bam-I, inspired by the recipe of beauty queen and actress Ruffa Gutierrez from her hometown in Cebu. It is a noodle dish packed with chicken strips, sliced pork, shrimp, Chinese chorizo, wood ear mushroom and vegetables.

THEY SERVE RICE!

Manila Life is not just a café, it’s a place where you can really eat. We mean really. All-time favorite rice dishes are reminiscent to mom’s cooking such as Pork Adobo, Beef Kaldereta and Sisig Rice.

THE CUISINE IS DIVERSE — WITH A FILIPINO TWIST

Western comfort foods such as tacos and burgers get a Filipino twist to cater to both local and foreign palates. The variety of tacos can either have Pork Sisig, Crisp Mahi Mahi Fillet or Chicken Inasal. Named after the restaurant, their Manila Life Bacon and Mushroom Burger could be their signature as it is made of mushrooms from a quaint community in Tagaytay. Not to mention its 100% pure beef patty and criss-cut fries on the side.

IT’S MARRIOTT’S MOST AFFORDABLE MENU YET

“Think about the best comfort food in any Filipino home, but done in a 5-star hotel kitchen, that’s Manila Life. And getting the best version of your home flavors,” says executive chef Meik Brammer.

THEY CAN HELP WITH YOUR MARRIOTT BUSINESS

Manila Life as an extension of Marriott Hotel with front office services from 11am to 8pm. You may do your check-in or out, settle payments, walk-in room reservation and other concierge services. Guests in a hurry for a flight can go here to settle their rooms, grab a bite and fly out.

THEY HAVE PASALUBONG

Manila Life Café partnered with Filipino designer Jeffrey Rogador for some retail items like sunglasses and stylish bags. Grab-and-go freshly baked bread and cookies that goes best with their mango jam.
