Salomon opens X Trail Run to newbies

It’s time to take your passion for running to the next level with Salomon X Trail Run, happening on July 23, 2017 at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

An annual event organized throughout Southeast Asia since 2008, this year’s run consists of two race categories, namely, Fun Trail with 6km and 12km distances, and the more technical “Mountain Run” with 24km and 32km distances.

Mountain Run

The Mountain Run at this year’s race will once again simulate the challenging ascents of Skyrunning races — an arena dominated by Salomon. The race starts at 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. for the 32km and 24km categories. The Mountain Run will feature technical ascents and varying terrain. From asphalt, sand and rocks to river crossing and steep technical ascents, the route for this category is expected to yield an adrenaline filled adventure for racers.

Mountain Run participants will receive a Race Kit which will include a race bib, a timing chip, a Salomon X-Trail technical jersey, a Salomon race cap, post-race meal and products from sponsors. Only those who finish the cut off time of 5 hours for 24km and 7 hours for 32km will receive a Finisher’s medal for this category.

Mandatory gear are: a whistle, a hydration pack/belt with at least 500mL of water. Those with incomplete mandatory gear will not be allowed to participate.

Fun Trail

The fun part: this trail is designed to accommodate road runners from zero to basic experience in trail running. The 6km Fun Trail category is a great introduction to trail running. The 12km fun trail category targets runners with basic trail running experience. Gun start for the Fun Trail is at 1:30 p.m.
