Assassin’s Creed Origins features new assassin, new scenery

The trailer for Assassin’s Creed Origins is now up, and it seems we are going way back into the past.

The trailer features many things, from the vast and different landscapes we’ll get to explore, to the ancient pyramids and tombstones, to the new weapons available, and to our new Assassin himself: Bayek. But if the trailer truly means to send one message, it’s that Assassin’s Creed is back and is ready to show us the future of the franchise, by taking us back to the beginning.

It has been a while since the last Assassin’s Creed game and when the rumors about it being located in Ancient Egypt started going around, we all started getting really excited. One of the most interesting and fun things about the Assassin’s Creed franchise has always been the way they portray certain parts of history. And so the opportunity to traverse Ancient Egypt — or hopefully even Ancient Greece or Ancient Rome eventually — is one that we are all incredibly psyched about.

The story centers on the origins of the Assassin Brotherhood, hence the name. We play as Bayek, one of the assassins who lived during that time. Some gameplay videos released also show us how a lot of things have improved— from more fluid movements, to a redefined combat system, to better looting, crafting, and even character upgrading – this game is taking it to the next level. Another thing to note is Senu, Bayek’s eagle, who is the primal and physical representation of the eagle vision.

There will be many more updates and information in the months to come, but I can honestly say at this point that Assassin’s Creed Origins looks like a promising new addition to this popular franchise.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will be available on October 27.

  1. Yeah, well. I think it’s going to be yet another Assassin’s Creed game, but now with more looting so it feels more like an RPG. They don’t really do much except for changing the assassin’s name and his clothes and, honestly, no matter how much I enjoy the franchise like the pleb that I am, I’ve grown quite tired of the same thing every year. And now they even take away the vision towers?
    But hey, BIGGER MAP YAY
